Carnival Cruise Line has recently officially christened its newest ship, Carnival Firenze at Long Beach in California.
The 2020-built Vista-class cruise ship is the second in the Carnival Fun Italian Style concept after sister ship Carnival Venezia joined the fleet last summer. Both were originally part of Costa Cruises – also owned by parent company Carnival Corporation before being rebranded but still retained their signature yellow funnel as opposed to Carnival Cruise Line's signature red, white and blue whale tail.
She was originally scheduled to debut in China following her launch and delivery but never had any opportunity to be deployed due to the outbreak of pandemic.
The 5,000-guest Carnival Fun Italian Style ship is now sailing year-round from Long Beach, offering three to seven-day Baja Mexico and Mexican Riviera sailings.
Like sister ship Carnival Venezia, Carnival Firenze also features new concepts and experiences that put an Italian Style twist on Carnival staples since having finished a 49-day drydock makeover in Cadiz, Spain.
